Hey Chloe, I didn't know who else to tell, and I have to tell someone. Mafuyu's here. We're going to live together. We've only spent the night together one time, and it was at my house with my family home. I'm kind of freaking out, I want this so much.

[Chloe looks ecstatic for him!]

He's here! I'm so happy for you!

[Ritsuka looks frazzled, happy but frazzled. Chloe has seen how he can be at times.]

Me too. I was scared I wouldn't see him again. You know this means Rustica could show up too.

[He listens, okay, Mafuyu is not on his way back in the room yet. Ritsuka did not think this through properly. He is too in love and panic for that. He whispers the next part furiously into the phone.]

What do I do about sleeping?!

[Chloe smiles sadly at the comment about Rustica. He's trying not to lose hope.

But then the hushed question hits him, and Chloe giggles.]

Um... I don't know? Cuddle? Does he like cuddling?

[Ritsuka will do his best to help his friend with that hope.

The giggle has Ritsuka bristling. No offense to Chloe. He is sensitive about many things. Does Mafuyu like cuddling? Wait?! They've never talked about that, but they've cuddled, so he must, right?

How does he not know this?!?! Ritsuka groans. He does know the answer to that, but his brain is not tuned to the logic frequency.]

Of course, he does. But what if I assume he's going to share the bed with me and he thinks it's too soon? It would be awkward then.

[Or worse, that itchy want to touch Mafuyu feeling blares like a siren across their bond.]

Or he feels something weird from me when we sync, and it freaks him out?

[WHAT IF HE FREAKS HIM OUT?!?! There are a dozen Ritsuka's scrambling in his brain right now, each one with a different thought on this situation. All with one guarantee, they love Mafuyu.

He is still furiously whispering every word for all the good it will do him.]

Then go sleep on the couch and buy a bunk bed?

[Chloe is practical, isn't he? He's helping!]

You won't know until you ask! And he's not going to feel anything weird from you. You should try being honest about your feelings right away.

[He'll adopt a scolding tone now.]

Do you remember what you said about telling him how much he means to you? You have to do it! As long as you're honest with him, I think he'll accept your feelings, too.

Argh!! [He groans in frustration.] That's not what I want, I want to be next to him all night, but I'm freaking out. We've never done anything more than kiss.

[Chloe is a gem, Ritsuka is a mess of a teenager head over heels for a boy who is now here with him. The scolding tone helps, and Ritsuka seems a little more resolute when he speaks again.]

You're right. I have to stop freaking out all the time and tell him how I feel. Why does it have to be so complicated? I want to be with him. I always want to be with him.

Silly... you don't have to do anything! I slept next to Rustica all the time! Just hug him maybe?

[For Chloe it's... extremely straightforward. Even if you like someone, it's all about knowing what they want to do, or not do, and just cuddling is totally fine! And great!]

I think you should tell him that, just like that! He'll look back at you and say he feels the same way, and then it'll be happily ever after.

[Chloe is not getting it, he's trying, Ritsuka knows it, and the frustrated groan is aimed at himself, not at the wizard. Why is he like this? He is Mr. Cool in so many other ways, but when it comes to Mafuyu, he's a wreck.]

Of course, I'm going to hug him, but what happens when I think about other stuff.

[Or forgets that he should be watching for his boyfriend as he is having this conversation. Something he is not doing.]

I can't just blurt it out like that. There has to be a moment, right?

[Hm. That is a problem. If Ritsuka can't resist getting all... worked up just thinking about stuff, he's in big trouble...]

A moment? Well... Not really? If you want it to be romantic you can just ease into it, I guess? I don't have a lot of experience with... um... initiating... things. O-or really talking about it at all. It just kinda... happens?

[A little laugh, nervous.]

[It is, in fact, a very bad time to forget that the topic of this conversation could very easily walk into the room.

Mafuyu's been standing quietly in the doorway out of the camera's view, trying to figure out who Ritsuka was talking to. But with Ritsuka's back turned, he walks over and leans in behind him to look at the screen over Ritsuka's shoulder, pressed in close to keep them both in the frame.]

Yeah. [And he pauses, allowing ample time for the alarmed reaction that he knows is coming.] You can just tell me.

[Chloe jumps a bit at his sudden appearance, not recognizing the person, but he figures it out rather instantaneously.]

Mafuyu??? Hi! I'm Chloe! I'm Ritsuka's friend! Um... I'm a wizard and I sew and I like music and nail polish and perfumes, a-and I made Ritsuka a jacket!

[Pleasedon'thatehim.]

I told him to just tell you how he feels! I told him that weeks ago!
