[ Harasaka really is beautiful, but there's something about this place that makes Riku want to seek out the comfort of someone else's hand. He already ran into Iori, who was clearly embarrassed about holding Riku's hand; but he's more worried that it's going to happen with him and a stranger.

It's going to happen with Chloe, whom Riku is scheduled to meet up with for some tea, because the instant Riku sees Chloe, he waves him down and runs towards him before immediately latching onto the other boy's hand. ]

Chloe-san! Hi!

[ He's a little out of breath from all that running, but he's smiling despite himself. ... Until he realizes that he had suddenly grabbed onto Chloe's hand, that is. He forcibly draws his hand back and waves it around apologetically. ]

Sorry -- I don't know what came over me! Ah...

[Chloe's eyes light up at his hand being grabbed, and he squeezes back reflexively. Riku can't possibly know how he's always a fan of being touched by people he likes, especially in the absence of the other Western wizards. So when he pulls away, Chloe's cheeks go pink.]

Oh. Um. No, it's okay. I actually like holding hands...

[ Luckily for Chloe, Riku also likes physical contact with the people he likes, so after a moment of consideration, he reaches back to take Chloe's hand in his. ]

Then...here! Sorry, I thought you might've been freaked out...but it's nice, right?

[He's so happy to have his hand held that he might turn a deeper shade of pink before this is over.]

[ Hugs, flopping on each other, giving each other noogies and whatnot. Riku enjoys those things a lot, so this is absolutely fine with him. ]

Your hand is really warm, Chloe-san! Ah, I hope that's not weird to say... I just -- I like it!

[Chloe says it a bit dreamily. He's glad he's not the only one who's subjected to people jumping on him at any given time! That's... totally what Riku means, right?]

N-no, it's not weird! I like it, too. You can hold my hand any time you need to! Um, you know, so you can... get manna...

Well, yeah. Manna's really important, but I'm doing okay with that, so...

[ He just really likes holding your hand, Chloe!! He goes a little pink, then: ]

[It's surprising, Chloe thinks, but holding hands is pretty normal here, so maybe he'll just accept it! And enjoy it! Because he does think Riku is really neat...]

I mean, um, I don't mind at all! That is... er... I'd like it... if you held my hand... Just because you want to...

[ He gives Chloe a jovial smile and keeps his hand wrapped gently around the other boy's. He gives it a reassuring squeeze and nods. Riku was being earnest when he said he wanted to hold Chloe's hand, and he wants Chloe to know that he means it. ]

I'll keep doing it, then! I like it when Chloe-san smiles... I think it's a good look on you!

[Well, he can't help smiling at that, even if it makes him look away a little shyly.]

What, me? But I like it when you smile! You're so bright, and kind. Are you this nice to everybody?

Well, I try to be... But I hope that doesn't make me seem dishonest! I really do like Chloe-san. You're really nice and kind yourself!

[ Good boys. They're such good boys. ]

No, I think it's good to be kind to people!

[He laughs faintly.]

To be honest, I trust kind people a little more... than people who are less kind. It's just easier to talk to them. People like you!

I'm the same way! People who are kind are nicer to talk to. I've dealt with more serious types before -- one of my best friends is like that! But he has a kind heart.

I think that's what counts.

[ These boys are too cute. Riku gestures towards one of the tea shops, though, and gives Chloe's hand a little tug. ]

Let's go inside before there's a line.

[A kind heart is what counts. Chloe is glad Riku thinks he's that way, honestly. It's a relief every time someone reassures him that he's not what his brain tries to tell him he is.

He's beaming at Riku, so he starts a bit at the tug. But then, after that, he's the one to eagerly drag Riku towards the door.]

Oh! Right! The tea! It looks like they have cute pastries for sale, too. Do you like sweets?

I love sweets! Donuts especially!!

[ Look at how he lights up, Chloe! It's like you said the magic word. His grip on Chloe's hand tightens a little, too -- it's subconscious, but it's a little sign of the excitement he's feeling. ]

What about you? What kind of sweets do you like, Chloe?

Donuts! I bet we can find something like that... Hmmm...

[He almost misses the question, so focused is he on making sure Riku gets something he likes.]

Oh! Um... I like things with cream, I guess? Strawberries with cream, cakes with lots of whipped cream on top... Not too sugary, but light and yummy!
